Kaitlin Fallschurch, a business major in her third year at Cleveland State, likes to stay out of the way of trouble. She avoids posting on social media, shares an apartment on campus with her best friend from her hometown, and still takes her parent’s advice when they call several times a week. She has learned over the years: doing what’s expected of her helps reduce her social anxiety. So when Kaitlin’s mother suggests she apply for a job at a residential golf course community to further her career, Kaitlin makes sure to get hired. But, in her attempts to please the many reckless members, Kaitlin winds up a pawn in a clash between the catty female golfers already on edge over the country club’s declining membership, imminent foreclosure, and their own declining real-estate values. Bryce, an interested co-worker, persuades Kaitlin to stay on and see the conflict through despite her desire to quit. Yet, each day she becomes more embroiled in the secret lives and alliances of these eccentric neighbors. When even Bryce seems to have betrayed her trust, Kaitlin has no choice but to finally follow her own instincts and accept the consequences, no matter what they are.
