Abstract
An innovative new query interface called VISAGE (VISual AGgregator and Explorer) has been developed for use in the PhysioMIMI system. This interface consists of three components: The (1) Query Builder, which provides an efficient, friendly display for creation of queries; the (2) Query Manager, designed to display all of a user's available queries much like an e-mail program; and the (3) Query Explorer, which offers rapid comparison and analysis tools in a new form. This interface was developed not only with the end-user in consideration, but with real end-users on the team providing regular feedback, as per Agile methodology. Comparative evaluation finds VISAGE's Query Builder to be a competitive interface compared to the corresponding web client offered by i2b2.
