Skeptical Perceptions

Schwarz, Jonathan

Abstract Details

2011, MFA, Kent State University, College of the Arts / School of Art.
The basis of my investigation is rooted in the mind’s ability to create imagery based on our shared experiences and our personal perceptions. I believe the images created by the psyche are reflections of those around us. Our interactions form a collective consciousness that we use to shape our personality. This installation began as a vague construct in my mind. In one moment my mental lens focused and the image became clear. I decided to accurately project this image and turn it into a physical object. The research that followed was my attempt to interpret the piece as a whole and the symbolism within.
