Abstract Details

2011, MFA, Kent State University, College of the Arts / School of Art.
For my thesis I have used a mixture of Christian imagery, animal forms, and text paintings to illuminate my worldview where it intersects with faith and human tendencies and to bring forth phantoms that roam my head and haunt my guts that are related to this worldview. I also use black humor as a tool to articulate my suspicions in regards to humanities true placement in the universe. To accomplish this I have used a number of medias including but not limited to clay, glitter, paint, glue, and found/appropriated objects. I have found that I mightily enjoy delivering the dark, sardonic, sociopolitical commentary that bubbles up from the depths of my bowels with a bowl full of sugar.
