The novel brief is the coming of age saga of Lynette Jean Whitfield. Forced in to young adulthood in the mist of death, deception and discovery of self acceptance.

The excerpt spans thirty years and three generation of the Whitfield family's revelation of trials, tribulation and times when life is all good. Told mostly from the point of view of the family's Griot,Baby Jean.
