An Oversimplified Construction of a Conplex Uncertainty

McClelland, Susan L.

Abstract Details

2011, MFA, Kent State University, College of the Arts / School of Art.
For many years, I have been interested in relationships, as they exist within society and within self. My art grows out of the insight and knowledge that I gain as I examine these bonds. The work that I have created for my thesis was an outgrowth from this awareness. The materials that I used to create my work also go through transformations. I generally use familiar raw materials and transform them into a less recognizable material, familiar yet unfamiliar. The work is abstract, suggestive of visceral, bone-like objects and architectural units. The work presents a narrative. It is my storyteller.
