Fractured Environments: The Scars of our Existence

Catanzarite, Lori Frances

Abstract Details

2017, MFA, Kent State University, College of the Arts / School of Art.
Art and aesthetic practice, through imaginative imagery, can play a transformative role in offering new ways to comprehend our relation to the world and create awareness or consciousness in environmental discourse. By mirroring our contemporary society through a combination of materials, concepts, and methods, the viewer will be able to visualize abstract and complex issues, perhaps evoking an emotional response. By creating work where the beauty and meaning of the images are in conflict, a metaphor for the complexity of our modern existence is reflected.
