The Integration of Technology in the Twenty-First Century Composition Classoom

Abstract Details

2012, BA, Kent State University, College of Arts and Sciences / Department of English.
This project analyzes the positive and negative effects of using technology to teach college level composition classes, particularly College Writing 1. Surveys conducted among Kent State University students and faculty provided much of the data, along with secondary sources regarding established teaching practices. The Researcher concluded that the use of technology can greatly enhance the students'learning potential, but only if the technology is actively integrated with their instructor's existing pedagogies. A sample syllabus is also included which uses technology in this way.
