My Honors Thesis is an investigation in sculptural glass as an art form. I took a foam taxidermy framework of a chipmunk and casted multiples of it. I created an installation piece consisting of forty-seven castings that were mounted on four foot tapered dowel rods. The piece speaks of physical disease and migration towards a common goal.
My thesis also includes a detailed account of the multiple processes I went through to make the large installation piece. Craft is an important aspect of making glass art. I made sure to describe each complicated step in full.
