This thesis aims to shed light on the lives of these refugees through the letters and testimonies they left behind. What follows is a portrait of an entire people fleeing for their very lives, hunted by their own countrymen for daring to defy the order of the Francoist regime. By translating their words, I will show what the lives of these people fleeing violence were like and what happened to them.t
