Homes of Our Own: A Qualitative Journey of Nepali-Bhutanese Refugees to Northeast Ohio

Newton, Julia

Abstract Details

2016, Undergraduate Honors Program, Malone University, Honors Thesis.
This study involved two case studies of Bhutanese refugees in northeast Ohio. Information was obtained through face-to-face interviews. A collaged, collaborative work was then created that combined direct quotations from the interviews, the participants' edited stories, and research about the historical contexts in both Bhutan and Nepal. The aim of this piece of writing was to challenge common misconceptions about refugees living in the United States today.
