VANÊK NA HRAD: THE HISTORICAL CONTEXT AND DRAMATURGICAL IMPLICATIONS OF THE VANÊK PLAYS

Griffith, Virginia Yvonne

Abstract Details

2004, Master of Arts, Miami University, Theatre.
The purpose of this thesis is divided into two parts. The first deals with constructing a historical context within Czech theatre history for the creation and evolution of the character, Vanêk, and the plays that he is in. The second half establishes the dramaturgical implications of having eight plays by four different playwrights that continue along the same story line.
