AN IMPROVED LASER COOLING AND ATOM TRAPPING SETUP FOR OPTICAL LATTICE AND RATCHET EXPERIMENTS

In this thesis, we will present in detail how we set up the laser, vacuum, and imaging systems in the new lab. We obtain significant improvements over the previous experimental set up. We discuss future experiments on optical lattices, and ratchets.
