Abstract
At some point in human evolution, approximately nine million years ago, the ancestors of humans began to walk upright. What caused this change? One theory states that human ancestors spent a great deal of time around water, in which standing upright would provide an evolutionary advantage by allowing them to wade out deeper into the water. This thesis takes the form of a novel and examines what life would be like for these aquatic apes.
