Abstract Details

2016, M.A. (Master of Arts in English), Ohio Dominican University, English.
This thesis examines the storytelling process and techniques of Tim O'Brien in his novels Going After Cacciato, The Things They Carried and In the Lake of the Woods by paralleling Sigmund Freuds dream theory in On Dreams. By paralleling Freud's theories, O'Brien is able to transform his real life memories from the Vietnam War into modern fiction.
