Effects of Physical Hardening on Thermal Contraction of Asphalt Binders

Dokka, Viswanath

Abstract Details

2006, Master of Science (MS), Ohio University, Civil Engineering (Engineering).

Determining the cracking temperatures of paving and roofing asphalts at cold environment by current test methods is a costly and tedious process. In cooperation with the National Cooperative Highway Research Program (NCHRP) the Ohio University Civil Engineering Department has been conducting advanced studies to determine the cracking temperature of the asphalt binders and physical hardening effects.
