Abstract
This dissertation presents measurements of the differential and total cross sections of the photoproduction ¿¿ + p → K
*+
+ ¿¿ and ¿¿ + p → K
*+
+ ¿¿
0
using the CLAS g11a data collected at experimental Hall-B, Jefferson Lab. These measurements are the world’s first high statistics measurements of K
*+
¿¿ and K
*+
¿¿
0
photoproduction. The cross section covers the incident photon energy range from 1.75 GeV to 3.85 GeV for K
*+
¿¿ and from 1.85 GeV to 3.75 GeV for K
*+
¿¿
0
in the CLAS lab frame, Also, the ¿¿ recoil polarization of the K
*+
¿¿ reaction channel is measured. The differential cross sections of ¿¿ + p → K
0
+ ¿¿
+
were measured as a calibration reaction and those results are compared with the previous CLAS, SAPHIR and CBELSA measurements. The K
*+
¿¿ recoil polarization was calibrated by checking the K
+
¿¿ polarization and comparing with previous CLAS measurements.
