Abstract Details

2016, Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Ohio University, Chemistry and Biochemistry (Arts and Sciences).
Oxazolidinones Derivatives are useful compounds in both synthetic chemistry and biochemistry. The addition reaction of fused ring aziridine and halides was developed, which provide a new way of preparing of oxazolidinone derivatives. Here the halides could be both highly reactive haloformates and less reactive haloacetates, benzyl halides and allylic halides. The addition reaction of fused ring aziridine and iodoacetate also provided a way to the synthesis of bicyclic compound, which could be opened by amine and amino acid. The method proved to be a useful method in the synthesis of peptidomimetics with oxazolidinone structure. A library of A3 analogue were prepared as anti-influenza agents. Compared to A3 compound, the oxadiazole unit was replaced with different substitutions, such as hydrazide and triazole. The indole unit was replaced with benzyl group with different substitutions.
