Framing the Practice of Film Curating

Lu, Yangqiao

Abstract Details

2008, Master of Arts, Ohio State University, Arts Policy and Administration.
Framing the Practice of Film Curating is an attempt to learn more about what film curating is and what the film curators do. This is a significant undertaking because it is the first of its kind and will hopefully prove to be a valuable resource for those working in the field. Because film is often understudied among the curatorial studies of all arts, this investigation attempts to create an introduction to the curatorial practice of film by reviewing the historic origin, examining the current development and addressing some major issues for the good of future. It is important to note that this research was limited by the lack of information regarding film curating and film curators due to the limitation of the author's personal reach. Available information was supplemented by the author's own knowledge of the field.
