The use of multi-dimensional test values for simultaneous detection and location of blunders in photogrammetric image coordinates is examined. The partial quadratic form is used to compute multi-dimensional test values. Using the number of photographs in which an object point is imaged as a parameter we were able to determine when a “quadratic” test value may be defined or undefined. Further problems of error detection and location are examined. Such factors as correlations and relative redundancy numbers influence location properties. Images in the border of the block were found to be unfavorable to multi-dimensional tests. These images belong to object points imaged on two or three photographs. One dimensional testing methods such as “data snooping” for practical reasons achieve equivalent results when used “iteratively” and may even produce favorable results in some cases where multi-dimensional testing fails.
