Three Essays in Causal Inference

Abstract Details

2021, PhD, University of Cincinnati, Business: Business Administration.
This dissertation contains three essays examining causal inference techniques. The first develops a regression discontinuity model, which incorporates spatial dependence by utilizing the Spatial Autoregressive Model, and Spatial Durbin Model specifications. The second essay uses this technique to examine the effect of failing a renewal school levy on residential property values. This essay also develops a new spatial weight matrix specification, as well as a new set of treatment effects incorporating the spillover effects from the new spatial weight matrix specification. The third essay uses a difference in differences specification to examine the effect of the Cincinnati streetcar on residential property values.
