EXPERIENCE THROUGH MOVEMENT: DESIGNING FOR MOTOR SCOOTERS

WINTERS, STEPHANIE J

Abstract Details

2007, MARCH, University of Cincinnati, Design, Architecture, Art and Planning : Architecture (Master of).
The motor scooter is rapidly becoming a popular method of transportation in the United States. The rising cost of fuel and concerns of environmental emissions are prompting many American households to purchase a scooter for local commuting, economy, and convenience. Though scooter sales continue to increase, motor scooters average only marginal use in the United States. Experiential design is an innovative design discipline that emphasizes the promotion of products, brands, and services by connecting with consumers in a meaningful way. Currently, an experience representing the motor scooter does not exist. By designing an experiential environment that focuses specifically on motor scooters, scooter owners and admirers may engage within a setting that facilitates, promotes, and expresses all activities and qualities of the motor scooter.
