Effects of Oral L-arginine Supplementation on Platelet Count and Maximal Oxygen Consumption in Healthy Males

Corbett, Eric J.

Abstract Details

2009, Master of Science, University of Akron, Physical Education-Exercise Physiology/Adult Fitness.
This thesis involved research investigating the oral L-arginine supplementation and its possible effects on platelet count and maximal oxygen consumption. It involved 24 male subjects, in a double-blind 3x3 study. No significant relationship was found with L-arginine supplementation and platelet count. L-arginine did affect maximal oxygen consumption.
