The Saguwentje of Berg En Dal

Veres, Michael J.

Abstract Details

2012, MA, Kent State University, College of Arts and Sciences / Department of Anthropology.
The primary objectives of this research project are to develop an accurate census of a wild population of one of the least known tamarins, Saguinus midas (golden-handed tamarin), summarize daily activity patterns, examine habitat preferences, and conduct a within-genus comparison of group size and group plasticity. These data were collected as part of the initial establishment of this field site, with an interest in assessing the basic parameters (density, group size, habitat preference) of the present Saguinus population, and an eye toward the future use of this field site for more extensive research.
