For my Senior Honors Thesis I made a twenty minute short film, titled Laplaces Demon, based on Newtonian determinism. The motivation behind the film was to test myself in a real world situation and see what I had learned and what skills I had accumulated the past four years at Kent State University. The entire project took eighteen months to complete. I started pre production in the second semester of my junior year, in which I wrote the film, collected equipment, props, scouted locations, organized a crew and casted actors. I filmed the project in a week during the summer before my senior year. Throughout the rest of my senior year I was in postproduction, in which I edited the film, applied color correction and created an appropriate sound design The result was a cohesive narrative that allowed me to display my story telling abilities, what I had learned and the skills I had accumulated. The project culminated in a successful defense near the end of the school year. By doing so, the project demonstrated the knowledge and skills I had gained from my education at Kent State University.
