This internship report provides a detailed description of my duties and overall experience as Greenspace Intern with the Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana Regional Council of Governments (OKI) Greenspace Office. The Greenspace Office at OKI was established in 1999 as part of the Regional Greenspace Initiative for the Cincinnati metropolitan area. The Greenspace Office’s role in the regional initiative is to coordinate integrated greenspace planning and management across political boundaries within the OKI Region and ultimately to develop a Greenspace Master Plan. The plan will help guide communities’ growth and conservation actions. For 24 weeks I performed the duties assigned to me by the greenspace planner who received direction from the regional planning director. My primary function was researching topics related to greenspace planning and land conservation, and preparing reports, summaries, and presentations based on my findings. Other duties assigned to me included assisting the OKI Greenspace Planner and mapping committee with the Greenspace Master Plan, research, collect, organize and evaluate information of importance to the OKI Greenspace Office's planning efforts, participate in meetings by setting up and tearing down displays and equipment, and by making presentations; and, perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
