Developing a Campus Website

Moore, Jeri L.

Abstract Details

2005, Master of Technical and Scientific Communication, Miami University, Technical and Scientific Communication.
This report highlights my 14-week internship as Web Editor within Miami University’s Office of Marketing Communications. During my internship, which ran from April 12–July 16, 2004, I completed numerous tasks involving the revision and creation of content for various Miami University web pages; however, my major focus was the creation of a new website for the Center for American and World Cultures, a campus organization dedicated to the promotion of non-dominant cultures. Because our office is a marketing operation designed to assist campus clients and build relationships with external audiences, we were assigned this task to help raise the Center’s visibility and promote the organization among prospective students. As manager of written content on the university website and point-of-contact for clients requesting web development services, I was given the responsibility of piloting this project. This report provides details and insights into its development to date.
