Computer animations: reflection of my experiences

Chang, Wooksang

Abstract Details

2000, Master of Fine Arts, Ohio State University, Art.

My graduate work has been concerned with both technical and artistic aspects of digital arts. However, my approach to using computer graphics technology stems from a recognition that the computer is just another tool for the expression of my ideas and feelings. While studying computer graphics at the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), I have focused much of my time on developing concepts and stories. These stories have culminated into three animations, Only ↗, Under Construction, and Untitled. These animations reflect my life experience with living in a foreign environment. What sets these animations apart from others is the fact that their purpose is not to showcase advanced computer technology, but to focus on the expression of my emotions and thought.
