A broken word parted and an installation was created. A visual signifier that conversed. A dialogue. Generated between my Mother and I. The dialogue about a journey. A journey that is taken physically and mentally. A dialogue that lies simmering underneath a complexity of reasons; a dialogue that unites our thoughts with equal sincerity. A dialogue that knows much more than is spoken.
My mother has been, still is and always will be my strongest, most powerful source of strength and inspiration. Every aspect of this installation is a reminding gesture of her existence and presence. A simple human being, who still believes. A religious quiet being who enjoys laughter. A caring open being who has shared many wise words of wisdom. A being with a loving, touching hand that is full of giving.
The abundance of forms is a necessity, and yet they still don't feel to be quite enough.
My gesture is to exemplify my mother 's presence.
