Morton, Jacquelynn Presley

Abstract Details

1999, Master of Fine Arts, Ohio State University, Theatre.

This paper contains a record of the design and production process of the costumes for The Ohio State University Department of Theatre 1999 production of Timberlake Wertenbaker's The Love of the Nightingale as directed by Phil Thompson. The problem was to present a contemporary play, based on a lost work by Sophocles, to a modern audience. Included in this paper is a discussion of the director's concept, a character analysis, a discussion of the design and construction process, an evaluation of the design, and supporting documentation.
