Art and Kraft: Performance of the Role of Dr. Kraft in Feral Music by Brian Silberman

Dubin, Jeremy

Abstract Details

1999, Master of Fine Arts, Ohio State University, Theatre.
The following is a documentation of the process I undertook during the preparation, rehearsal and performance of the role of Dr. Kraft in Brian Silberman’s new play Feral Music. The first part will be dedicated to the research that occurred prior to or early in the rehearsal process. This includes research on the playwright, the play and its production history, and also some preliminary character analysis. The second part will focus on the challenges I faced during the rehearsal and performance of this role. These include vocal challenges, physical challenges and general acting challenges. In this document I have provided a description of the process that occurred during each phase of the creation and execution of this role.
