Design and Synthesis of Novel Bioactive Compounds for the Development of HIV-1 Allosteric Integrase Inhibitors, 20S Proteasome Inhibitors, and Anticancer Natural Product Derivatives

Wilson, Tyler Aron

Abstract Details

2019, Doctor of Philosophy, Ohio State University, Pharmaceutical Sciences.
Small molecules have undeniably played a crucial role in the development of new therapies for multiple disease states including HIV and cancer. The inspiration for these small molecule leads comes from various areas including previously established synthetic leads or natural products. Regardless of the origin or type of small molecule, synthetic access remains a challenging but important part of developing these compounds into potential drug candidates.
