The Needs and Acculturative Stress of International Students in CACREP Programs: An extension of Ng (2006)

International students’ presence in CACREP-accredited programs’ help diversify the programs. There were 310 international students enrolled in CACREP-accredited program in the year 2013-2014 (CACREP, 2015). The current research surveyed 38 international students enrolled in CACREP-accredited programs in the U.S. The research found a relationship between acculturative stress and academic needs, social needs, language needs, and cultural needs. The research also found a relationship between academic needs and language needs, social needs and cultural needs, and language needs and social needs. The research also found no relationship between age of international students and acculturation and needs, the duration of stay of the international student and their acculturative stress and needs, and international student country of origin and their acculturation and needs.
