Blind Equalization and Multi-User Detection in Asynchronous Space-Time Coded CDMA System

Abstract Details

2004, MS, University of Cincinnati, Engineering : Electrical Engineering.
Space-time coded CDMA combines the CDMA technique and space-time signaling techniques. In this thesis, we consider the blind multiuser detection problem for asynchronous CDMA systems operating in a multipath environment using multiple transmit and receive antennas. The Alamouti scheme and a more general 3 by 4 scheme are considered. Using only the spreading code of the desired user, a blind minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector will be obtained without explicit channel estimation. Corresponding batch and adaptive algorithms are developed. Simulations are performed that verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.
