Abstract
It has been shown that Bcl-2 family members have an integral role in the maintenance of T-cell homeostasis. However, the mechanism by which these gene products are regulated is still not entirely known. This is true not only for the antiapoptotic protein Bcl-2 but for the pro-apoptotic protein Bim. Here we look at the effects that T-cell activation has on Bim, the effects that Bcl-2 may have in opposing Bim, and the possible interdependence that Bim may have on Bcl-2.
