Abstract
In modern world, where need for scaling and distributed computing is getting more crucial, distributed systems are becoming integral part of technology. An important issue in distributed environment is to make common decisions that optimize the requirements of all components in the system. Through our thesis we provide a negotiation model for decision making in a multi-agent system, where agents have incomplete set of information about each other. Our algorithm implements the idea of equal profit sharing and direct communication among agents. Agents in our algorithm collaborate with other agents for optimizing the final solution while preserving their individual privacies. Therefore an agent prefers existing proposals from other agents to generate its proposals instead of considering proposal solely based on its personal profit. We eliminate the need of a centralizing agent and maintain that need of information flow is minimal among agents while reaching toward an optimal solution. Ultimate goal of our algorithm is to provide a solution that maximizes individual and common benefits of all agents. We validate our approach through our experimental results for the problem we have chosen. Presented thesis contains our problem, algorithm description and our results with conclusion and future possibilities of our work.
