A PROSPECTIV STUDY OF COFFEE CONSUMPTION, NAUSEA, AND HORMONE LEVELS OF EARLY PREGNANCY

Lawson, Christina Carole

Abstract Details

2000, PhD, University of Cincinnati, Medicine : Environmental Health Sciences.
Background: Coffee consumption’s effect on pregnancy has been controversial, possibly due to measurement error of coffee intake and the influences of confounding factors such as nausea. The objectives of this prospective study were to determine (1) the relationships among hormone levels, nausea, and changes in coffee consumption, and (2) whether coffee intake at the last menstrual period (LMP) predicted pregnancy hormone levels.
